I’m a product designer based in Tampa Bay 🏖️

Early background

I started photoshopping at a young age (version 6 I think). I was inspired by my uncle, an old school web guru and photographer, who taught me the basics. It mostly started with making goofy photos of my little brother - I loved the liquify filter - but that’s all it took to pique my interest.

Once I realized I could do this for money, I knew what I wanted to do when I grew up. After high school I studied traditional art at St Petersburg College and received my undergrad in graphic design at USF St Pete in 2011.

Professional journey

After getting my feet wet, I found myself in a role at Laicos, a bootstrapped startup, where I discovered my love for small, tight-knit teams and the problem-solving side of UI, UX, and product design.

I continued down this path which lead me to Perch Security, a cybersecurity startup, where where I was an early employee leading all things design. With our amazing team, we grew from whiteboard sketches to $10M ARR. In less than 5 years since the companies inception, Perch successfully exited to ConnectWise.

I enjoyed the intricacies of designing for cybersecurity and continued to Stairwell teaming up with former Perchers to help grow the company from proof-of-concept to general availability, 10x-ing ARR to $3M and closing a seven-figure deal.

After many years in cybersecurity, I found myself yearning for a new adventure. I went from hunting malware to hunting new drugs. My latest venture has me at SandboxAQ on the AI (Bio)Sim team to help design tools that power drug discovery.

I am currently utilizing my pixel pushing skills toward tackling some of the toughest diseases out there including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Glioblastoma, and more - which feels really good.

Personal life

As proud as I am of my career, nothing tops being a dad. I have a 5 year old, Finn, that I enjoy spending time with whenever I’m not working. He’s a handful, like most little boys, but it’s amazing to watch him grow up.

Some of my hobbies include watching a weird anime, or playing some videogames. Now that my son is a bit older, I currently enjoy playing games with him such as Minecraft or Roblox brain rot.
